OUT NOW IN THE USA - DEAD IN THE DARK

The 17th Cooper and Fry novel DEAD IN THE DARK is out this week in the USA, released in ebook formats with this wonderful cover from Witness Impulse.

How do you prove a murder without a body?

Ten years ago, Reece Bower was accused of killing his wife, a crime he always denied. Extensive police searches near his home in Bakewell found no trace of Annette Bower's remains, and the case against him collapsed.

But now memories of the original investigation have been resurrected for Detective Inspector Ben Cooper - because Reece Bower himself has disappeared, and his new wife wants answers.

Cooper can't call on the Major Crime Unit and DS Diane Fry for help unless he can prove a murder took place - impossible without a body. As his search moves into the caves and abandoned mines in the isolated depths of Lathkilldale, the question is: who would want revenge for the death of Annette Bower?

Meanwhile, Fry is working on a murder investigation of her own in an entirely different part of Derbyshire, where a community is divided against itself.

A blog tour is now under way in the US, organised by Partners in Crime. Check out all these lovely bloggers who are hosting reviews, features, interviews and guest posts over the next few weeks for the launch of DEAD IN THE DARK:

THE CORPSE BRIDGE NOW OUT IN THE USA

The latest release from Witness Impulse in the USA is the 14th Cooper & Fry novel THE CORPSE BRIDGE, out this week in ebook formats.

A trade paperback edition is due out in February 2015.

This brings US readers up to date with the Cooper & Fry series.

"When it comes to murder, nothing is sacred… For centuries, mourners in Derbyshire have used the Corpse Bridge to cross the River Dove and reach their village burial grounds.
"When a developer plans to deconsecrate the land by turning it into a parking lot for his resort cottages, bodies begin to litter the road to the Corpse Bridge.
"Are these warnings to stay away from the sacred plots - or something much, much worse: a terrifying serial killer at work?
"After recuperating from a traumatic event, Detective Cooper is finally back at work, and he knows that solving the mystery of the Corpse Bridge is exactly what he needs to feel like himself again.
"But if Cooper can't overcome his own personal demons and focus on the case, he could put everything - and everyone - he cares about at risk…"

ONE OF MY FAVOURITES - AT JUST 99 CENTS!

A story of guilt, sacrifice & redemption in a snowy Peak District winter.

One of my personal favourites in the Cooper & Fry series, BLOOD ON THE TONGUE, is currently available to download at just $0.99 in its brand new Witness Impulse ebook edition for the USA. Another bargain!

It's a new year for Ben Cooper and Diane Fry, and that means new mysteries to solve in the icy depths of a bitter winter.

It isn't the easiest way to commit suicide, but the dead woman seems to have simply curled up in the freezing snow and lain there until her heart stopped. There was no one to observe her death but the foxes and the hares. Yet she is riddled with bruises. Her demise is horrifying. Is it also suspicious?

When two more bodies are found, Cooper and Fry begin to wonder whether these tragedies are connected - and whether they will survive the winter…

"A story full of emotion and atmosphere" - a review of BLOOD ON THE TONGUE from 'Mystery Sequels': mysterysequels.com/blood-on-the-t

The second Cooper & Fry novel DANCING WITH THE VIRGINS is now available for US readers in its new Witness Impulse ebook edition.

VIRGINS was a CWA Gold Dagger finalist when it was first published, and it was voted Best British Crime Novel of the Year by readers in the USA.

Described as "an atmospheric, psychological stunner", it tells the story of a young woman whose body is found within a prehistoric stone circle in the Peak District, her arms and legs arranged to look as though she's dancing. Young Derbyshire police detectives Ben Cooper and Diane Fry must unlock the memories trapped inside the mind of a previous victim before more blood is shed amongst the stones...

You can download the new ebook edition in the US right now at just $2.99:

Meanwhile, the first book BLACK DOG reached number 8 on the Sony bestseller list when it was released by Witness Impulse in October, and it's been in the Nook Top 50 bestsellers for the past two weeks.

This feels pretty amazing, considering that BLACK DOG was first published 13 years ago, way back in 2000! It proves that readers aren't totally focussed on the latest 'big thing', but are capable of appreciating a book long after its initial publication. The folk at William Morrow have also done a great job launching the new Witness Impulse list, which features a lot of terrific titles.

BLACK DOG is currently available at a special promotional price of just 99 cents. So if you're in the USA and you haven't discovered the Cooper & Fry series, now would be a good time to start! Follow the links below:

COOPER AND FRY RE-LAUNCHED IN THE USA

News for US readers! The new HarperCollins digital imprint Witness Impulse are about to re-launch the entire Cooper & Fry series in the USA in ebook format. The first title, BLACK DOG, will be released on 8th October. The new cover looks pretty gorgeous, I think. Get a glimpse of it below!

BLACK DOG was the book which first introduced young Derbyshire police detectives Ben Cooper and Diane Fry to the world, along with their 'E' Division colleagues and the fictional Peak District town of Edendale. There are now 13 books in the series, with a 14th on the way. So if you're in the US and you haven't experienced the Cooper & Fry series yet, now would be a good time to start!

Available initially in ebook formats, BLACK DOG will be on sale in the USA at just $2.99 from 8th October:

http://wmmorrow.hc.com/witnessimpulse/blackdog-9780062301963

Witness Impulse will then release one Cooper & Fry novel a month until June 2014, when the rate steps up to TWO releases a month. So we can expect the second book, DANCING WITH THE VIRGINS, as soon as 5th November.

Watch out for the rest of the new covers. They're looking pretty good too!

To coincide with the release of BLACK DOG, I'll be taking part in a month-long 'virtual book tour' through October and into November. You can find dates for the various blog posts, interviews and reviews here:
