CRIME FICTION WEEK IN BIRMINGHAM

The UK Crime Writers' Association has named the week beginning Monday 14th June as National Crime Fiction Week. I'll be doing my bit to bring crime fiction to the country with an event in Birmingham.

'An Evening with Stephen Booth' takes place on Wednesday 16th June (6.30 for 7pm start) at the Birmingham Library Theatre, next door to the Central Library in Paradise Place. I'll be talking about Ben Cooper and Diane Fry, about my inspiration for the series, and about some of the locations. There will also be a chance to ask those questions you've longed to get answered. Copies of LOST RIVER and other Cooper & Fry novels will be on sale - and, of course, I'll be available to sign them for you!

This is a FREE event, but tickets need to be booked via the Birmingham Box Office, either by phone on 0121 303 2323 or online at: http://www.birminghamboxoffice.com
or by calling in person at the Birmingham Central Library reception.

Readers attending the event will receive a complimentary drink and also get entered into a free prize draw at the end of the evening (that's in case meeting me just isn't enough excitement for you!). And did I mention this event is FREE?

There are lots more events taking place around the country during National Crime Fiction Week. You can check out the schedule here:

The CWA has also been running a Young Crime Writers competition in conjunction with National Crime Fiction Week. Regional winners have already been chosen, and the winner from the West Midlands is Nicole Hendry (aged 15), from Sutton Coldfield, with her story 'The Demolition of Lives'. Well done, Nicole (and a great title, by the way!).

Other regional winners are listed here:
